Shopify Flow Extensions

98 new triggers
for Shopify Flow

Workflow Trigger Extensions ships 98 native triggers that standard Shopify Flow does not expose: what shoppers do on your storefront and in checkout, metafield and metaobject updates, price and variant changes with the old and the new value, discounts, B2B, inventory and more. Or write your own.

How it works

Install, pick a trigger, you're live

01

Install the app

One-click install from the Shopify App Store. All 98 triggers unlocked from day one.

02

Pick a trigger

Open Shopify Flow, browse our triggers by category, drop one into a new workflow.

03

Wire your actions

Connect any Shopify Flow action. Payload variables are fully typed and discoverable.

Triggers

The Shopify events standard Flow was missing

98 native Shopify Flow triggers, drop-in ready inside the Flow editor. Zero glue code.

Storefront behaviour

Run a workflow on what a shopper actually does: viewing a product, adding to cart, starting checkout, or searching for something you do not stock. Delivered by a web pixel the app installs itself - no theme edit.

Out-of-stock variant viewed

Someone looked at a variant you cannot sell them. A real restock demand signal, per variant rather than per product, so you learn what to reorder from what shoppers wanted.

Checkout errors and rejected codes

Checkout showed an error, or refused a discount code. Find out your checkout is failing without waiting for a support ticket, and catch expired campaign codes.

Old and new values

Every change trigger hands Shopify Flow the value before and after. Numbers also carry the difference, the percentage and the direction, so "price dropped by more than 10%" needs no code.

Metafield & metaobject updates

React the moment a metafield or metaobject value changes, with the previous value included. Fire workflows on customer tier upgrades, product spec changes, or any custom data model.

Variant, price & SKU changes

Catch every product detail change: variant additions, price and cost adjustments, SKU updates. Keep inventory, pricing systems and partner feeds in sync.

Discounts, B2B, inventory and content

Discount lifecycle, B2B company and location events, per-location inventory, blog and page updates. The Shopify surface area Flow never reached - now first-class triggers.

Write your own triggers

Need a trigger the catalog does not have? Write a few lines of JavaScript that decide when to fire and what to send - on a Shopify event, or on a schedule from every 30 seconds to once a day.

Custom storefront events

A cart drawer opened, a size guide viewed, a wishlist add: publish your own event from the theme with one line and it arrives in Shopify Flow as a trigger.

Events on the record's admin page

Add a block to the product, order, customer or company page and see the latest trigger events about that record, each with a short old to new line.

Templates and AI

Install ready-made workflow templates in one click, or describe a custom trigger in plain English and let AI write the code from a real sample payload, using your own AI key.

Simulate, API and MCP

Fire any past event again without touching the store, preview it with a dry run, and manage everything from your own tools through a REST API and an MCP server.

Guides and tutorials

Step-by-step tutorials from the documentation, one per trigger family.

Everything else is in the documentation, and the changelog shows what is new.

FAQs

Are these official Shopify triggers?
They use Shopify's official webhook and API surface, wired into Shopify Flow as first-class triggers. No reverse engineering - we use the public, supported APIs.
Can I trigger a Flow from what shoppers do on my storefront?
Yes. Storefront triggers are collected by a Shopify web pixel that the app installs for you when you switch one on, so there is no theme edit and nothing to paste. They cover product and collection views, cart changes, checkout started, searches, checkout errors and a rejected discount code.
How do storefront triggers handle consent and volume?
They respect your store's customer privacy settings. If a shopper has not given analytics consent the event is dropped in their browser and never reaches us, so it starts no workflow and uses none of your allowance. Storefront events are also much higher volume than admin events, so switch on only the ones a workflow actually uses.
What happens if Shopify changes the underlying webhook?
We track Shopify's API changelog and ship updates within days. Your existing Flows keep running, no breaking changes for you.
Can I filter triggers by tag, type, or other field?
Yes. Every trigger ships with native Shopify Flow conditions. Filter on any payload field directly inside the Flow editor.
Where are events processed?
On Google Cloud in the EU (europe-west1, Belgium), encrypted at rest with Google Cloud KMS. No data leaves Europe.
Is the app GDPR-compliant?
Yes. EU-only residency, and a signed DPA is available. The storefront pixel is consent-gated, sets no advertising cookies and does no cross-site tracking. No third-party tracking on this site.
Can I build a trigger the app does not have?
Yes. Custom triggers let you write the trigger logic in JavaScript and use it in Flow like any other trigger. Every execution counts toward your plan's events.
Do the triggers include the old and the new value?
Yes. Every change trigger hands Shopify Flow the value before and after the change. Numbers also carry the difference, the percentage and the direction, and the generic Product, Order and Customer Update triggers list which fields changed. See How triggers work.
Can a custom trigger run on a schedule?
Yes. A custom trigger does not need a Shopify event: its code can run from every 30 seconds to once a day, remember state between runs, read your store and decide for itself what counts as a change - for example a product not updated for 30 days, or no orders for six hours.
Can I test a workflow without changing real data?
Yes. From Event History you can fire any past event again, or preview the payload with a dry run. It runs the production pipeline, so the workflow receives exactly what it would live, and it does not count toward your plan.
Are there ready-made workflows?
Yes. The app ships workflow templates you install into Shopify Flow in one click, from redirecting old product URLs to tagging products a shopper wanted but could not buy.
