Sidekick and AI assistants
Shopify Sidekick can query this app directly. Ask in plain language and it answers from your real data, without you filtering History by hand.
It is read-only. Sidekick can look, but every change still happens in the app.
What you can ask
About your setup
- "Which email senders are set up?"
- "Do I have a Gmail sender connected?"
- "List my email layouts"
- "Do I have an HTTP request for Airtable?"
- "Is there a secret called
airtableToken?"
About what happened
- "Did any emails fail this week?"
- "Show me recent email sends"
- "Why did my last email send fail?"
- "Any failures in the last 7 days?"
- "How many actions have I run this month?"
About a specific thing
- "Show me the setup of my Order Confirmation layout"
- "What subject does my VIP welcome email use?"
- "Which host does my Zoho SMTP server use?"
Every answer includes a link that opens the relevant page in the app.
What it will never tell you
Sidekick is deliberately limited, because an AI assistant is a new way for data to leave the app. It never returns:
- Secret values. It can confirm a secret exists and name it, never its contents.
- SMTP passwords or OAuth tokens.
- HTTP header values. It will tell you a request sends an
Authorizationheader, not what is in it. - Raw request or response payloads, including recipient addresses and message bodies.
For any of those it points you into the app instead.
What it can see
| Area | What Sidekick reads |
|---|---|
| Email layouts | Name, subject, editor mode, attachments |
| Email senders | Provider, address, kind, verification status; SMTP host, port and from address |
| HTTP requests | Name, method, URL, header names |
| Secrets | Names only |
| History | Status, timestamp, type, config name, duration, error message, Flow run id |
Turning it on
Nothing to configure. If Sidekick is available on your store, it can already query the app once it is installed - the capability ships with the app.
Sidekick is a Shopify feature, so its availability depends on your plan and region rather than on anything here.
When to use the app instead
Sidekick is quickest for a question. Use the app when you need to:
- see the actual content of a request or a delivered email
- change anything at all
- inspect a full request or response payload
- work through a failure in detail - see History and troubleshooting
